Custom CNC Machining Turned Aluminum Parts Fabrication Aluminum Stainless Steel Metal CNC Machining Service Parts
Aluminum parts after CNC processing are usually surface treated to improve their appearance, corrosion resistance, wear resistance or other functional requirements. The following are some common surface treatment methods for aluminum parts:
Anodizing:
It is an electrolytic treatment process that improves corrosion resistance and wear resistance by forming a layer of aluminum oxide (Al2O3) film on the surface of aluminum parts.
It can provide different colors and textures, with good decorative effects.
Common types of anodizing include ordinary anodizing, hard anodizing and color anodizing.
Electroplating:
A layer of metal such as nickel, chromium, zinc, etc. is plated on the surface of aluminum parts to improve its corrosion resistance and appearance.
Pretreatment such as chemical plating or copper plating is required to enhance the bonding strength of the coating with the aluminum substrate.
Spraying:
Including powder spraying and liquid spraying, a uniform coating can be formed on the surface of aluminum parts.
Powder spraying uses the principle of electrostatic adsorption, and the coating has strong adhesion and good corrosion resistance.
Liquid spraying includes spray painting, etc., which can provide a rich selection of colors.
Baking paint:
It is a high-temperature curing coating with good weather resistance and chemical resistance.
The paint layer has a strong bond with the aluminum substrate and is suitable for aluminum products with high appearance requirements.
Wire drawing:
The wire drawing process forms straight or random lines on the surface of aluminum parts to improve the appearance texture.
The aluminum parts after wire drawing have good reflectivity and feel.
Polishing:
The surface of aluminum parts is ground with a polishing wheel and polishing paste to obtain a smooth and bright surface.
Polishing can improve the decorative and optical properties of parts.
Passivation:
A dense oxide film is formed on the surface of aluminum parts to improve its corrosion resistance.
Commonly used in high-demand industries such as aerospace.
Chemical conversion treatment:
A conversion film is formed on the surface of aluminum parts by chemical methods, such as chromate treatment, to improve corrosion resistance and coating adhesion.
Laser engraving/marking:
Use laser to engrave text, patterns or marks on the surface of aluminum parts, which is permanent and high-definition.
The choice of surface treatment method depends on the end use of aluminum parts, environmental conditions, durability requirements, and appearance requirements. Each treatment method has its own characteristics and scope of application, so it should be considered comprehensively when choosing.
